Description

The FLIR T620 thermal camera is a strong industrial IR camera. It is designed for locations that require regular, detailed inspections. The camera features high-resolution thermal imaging with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. This means it has a total of 307,200 pixels.

It also has a wide temperature range from -40°C to 650°C. This corresponds to the same range as -40°F to 1,202°F. You can also increase the max temperature to 2,000°C, which is 3,632°F.

This version of the T620 includes a 15-degree lens. This is a telephoto lens for long-range thermal imaging.

It works well when the camera is far from the subject. Other lens packages are also available to expand the camera’s capability for mid-range and close-up applications. The T620 also features 40mK thermal sensitivity, a 30Hz frame rate, and lightning-fast automatic and manual focus options.

FLIR UltraMax Super Resolution

FLIR T620

resolution technology available only on T-Series thermal cameras. UltraMax enhances the thermal resolution of the T620 infrared camera by a factor of four. It also cuts noise by fifty percent.

With UltraMax, the thermal resolution on the T620 goes from 640×480 to 1,280×960. This means there are over 1.2 million pixels in total. This resolution is higher than the standard 720p resolution typically found on TVs or video cameras.

UltraMax technology differs significantly from other scaling techniques, such as interpolation and pixel averaging. Unlike other technologies, UltraMax uses the natural movement of the human body. It captures 16 slightly offset thermal images every second.

When these images are combined using UltraMax, they produce a single, high-resolution thermal image. The measurement spot size gets smaller because more pixels cover the same area. This actually increases thermal accuracy on smaller details. Refer to the images below for an illustration of how UltraMax operates.

Ergonomic Design

flirt600

The design of the T620 infrared camera helps professionals with plant inspections and maintenance. It makes their work easier, faster, and less stressful.

That’s why FLIR added features to make the T620 easier to use. One feature is the camera’s rotating optics block. It can move up and down 120 degrees.

The optics block rests firmly in the operator’s left hand while the hand strap secures the right hand. When in the hand strap, buttons are within reach to focus, capture, and make image adjustments even with gloves or other PPE. The camera’s 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen is also within reach from this position.

Through the touch screen, one can adjust most camera and measurement settings and review images. FLIR added its special Auto Orientation feature to the T620. This keeps the touch screen upright, no matter how you hold the camera.

FLIR Tools Mobile
