Description
Proceq GP8800 is yet another revolution in concrete inspection and imaging by Proceq. The rugged, lightweight Swiss-made probe packs our unique radar technology into a tiny footprint, delivering gigantic clarity and depth. This makes it possible to locate rebar and tendon ducts by inspecting overhead, in tight spots, close to walls, from the edge of the slab, and in congested spaces, such as underneath pipes.
The unit detects reinforcing bars and steel mesh, secondary reinforcement layers, tendon ducts, cables, conduits, and other embedments. Voids, inclusions, and discontinuities are also identified, and slab or wall thicknesses are measured from a single side. Ground penetrating radar is the ideal technology for structural investigation, as-built verification, rebar and embedment detection, and thickness measurement.
The exclusive wireless tracking wheel adjusts between trailing and sidecar configurations for flexibility in cramped environments and to permit cross-polarized scanning. The cross-polarization method combines data from two scans in perpendicular directions from the same area, significantly increasing scanning sensitivity and resolution. For scanning in narrow areas with as little as 2.5in (64mm) of clearance, the battery pack can be removed and tethered to the scan module with a USB-C cable.
Features
- Accurately detect rebar, live wires, embedments, and more
- Scan tight spaces and curved concrete surfaces with ease
- Unit operates wirelessly and transmits data over encrypted Wi-Fi
Proceq GP8800 is the only ground penetrating radar in the market that offers complete, wireless autonomy and flexibility in an mini, ultraportable, lightweight probe that connects to iPad over encrypted Wi-Fi.
There is no need to connect Proceq GP8800 to any master GPR device with long, thick, and fragile cables that adversely impact data quality. Say goodbye to tripping hazards, and welcome convenient scanning, even overhead.

Innovative Design for Unrestricted Operation
Designed with real-world applications in mind, the GP8800 boasts a suite of innovative features:
- Wireless Tracking Wheel: This ingenious component can be quickly adjusted between trailing and sidecar configurations, facilitating smooth scanning in confined spaces. Its ability to perform cross-polarized scanning—combining perpendicular scan data—significantly boosts sensitivity and resolution for clearer subsurface insights.
- Detachable Battery Pack: For exceptionally narrow access points (requiring as little as 2.5 inches / 64 mm clearance), the battery pack can be detached and connected via a USB-C cable, ensuring uninterrupted operation where other devices cannot reach.
- Encrypted Wireless Connectivity: The device pairs seamlessly with any Apple iPad (running iPadOS 13.6 or later) via encrypted Wi-Fi, offering wireless freedom up to 65 feet (20 meters). The iPad transforms into a powerful mobile workstation, enabling real-time data visualization, comprehensive post-processing, instant reporting, and effortless collaboration on-site.
- Advanced Visualization: Leverage 2D, 3D, and state-of-the-art Augmented Reality (AR) displays through Apple’s ARKit™. This revolutionary feature overlays subsurface visuals directly onto the real world, providing an intuitive, immersive understanding of hidden structures.
Enhanced Functionality and Streamlined Data Management
The GP8800 is built for extensive projects and efficient data handling:
- Massive Scan Memory: Capable of recording straight-line scans up to 3,281 feet (1,000 meters) and ergonomic performance for defined area scans up to 1,076 square feet (100 square meters).
- Versatile Review Modes: Analyze data with ease using non-migrated scans, detailed heatmaps, and precise depth slices.
- Flexible Data Export: Export results in multiple formats including CSV, HTML, JPG, PNG, or SEGY files, ensuring compatibility and easy sharing with clients and stakeholders.
- Proceq Logbook Integration: Securely store and manage your data in the cloud with Proceq Logbook, enabling live sharing, advanced post-processing, and comprehensive project tracking. Enrich your scans with geolocation data, photos, audio notes, and text comments for detailed reporting and context.
Robust and Adaptable Hardware
Durability and flexibility are at the core of the GP8800’s design:
- Compact & Agile: The compact antenna housing features a wireless tracking wheel that can be attached to any side, enabling seamless scanning in all directions.
- Extended Power Options: Powered by four standard AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable) or flight-safe rechargeable batteries, providing up to 2.5 hours of continuous operation. For long-term projects, a tethered 5VDC, 2A power bank can extend use up to 8 hours.
- Optional Accessories: Enhance your workflow with extras like extra battery packs and an ultralight telescoping rod for reaching elevated or otherwise inaccessible areas.
Comprehensive Software and Unrivaled Support
The GP8800 comes complete with permanent operating software and access to the Proceq Workspace platform. Users benefit from five years of complimentary software updates and dedicated support, with the option for extension. Even after this period, the software remains fully functional, and the iPad hardware can be upgraded independently, safeguarding your investment.
